The internationally renowned @ExplorersClub has awarded their prestigious Citation of Merit Award 2024 to the #Endurance22 Expedition team. The Leader of the Expedition, John Shears, & Deputy Leader, Nico Vincent received the award at The Explorers Club Gala Dinner in New York..

… on Saturday 20 April. The Endurance22 Expedition was funded and organised by the #Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust.

On this day in history – 5th March 2022: an expedition organised by the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust located the wreck of Sir Ernest #Shackleton’s three-master barquentine, Endurance, which was crushed by Antarctic ice and sank on 21 November 1915.

Congratulations to Endurance22’s Expedition Leader, John Shears & Sub-Sea Manager, Nico Vincent, who are to be presented with “The Citation of Merit” by The @ExplorersClub, a highly prestigious award in recognition of their pivotal roles in the historic discovery of Endurance.

Congratulations to John, Nico & the #End22 team for this well-deserved recognition, & to all the award recipients. The citations will be presented at The Explorers Club’s 120th Annual Dinner in NY on April 20.
